but by the time i finally had my 3 armies back. so i went to them with my 1 full stack army. On the second vanguard campaign map i was just chillfully getting used to the game when another leader declared war. the rate at which they can pump out armies really caught me with my pants down. Is there no general penalty for to many colonies? If not I think there should be, most other games like this have that to prevent mindlessly spamming Towns everywhere. I feel like I'm just wasting time looking for the perfect spots for my colony when apparently just planting colonies everywhere and as closely as possible to each other is the way to go. In the same time as it takes me to develop 2 Colonies and get my Third another AI sits on 4-5 Colonies and like 5 full stacks of Units.Īm I just missunderstanding something? Is just spamming Colonies that much more effectiv than trying to develop the economy and then getting new ones? I was up against a Hero from the amazon mounted on a harrier that had "Melee Overwatch Chanceled" affter being stagger by a arc granade.īut as I have not had a melee mount myself I can not say for sure.Originally posted by R4ampage:I'm just baffled at how many Armies they can field and supposedly at the same time develop their economy. Hmm well there are Kir'ko mounts with melee attacks and amazon harrier that can melee attack as well. I think that is a trait that only applies to infantry, like overwatch to give them more power, so they can cope up with vehicular threats. I haven't seen any use of melee guard on my vehicles, though i had counterattack. So basically to my knowledge, if the vehicle can go into overwatch you can use the basic OW, but not benefit from that feat (pre velociraptor beta update). The dvar Walkers have the ability to use overwatch, i don't have that on my Vanguard gunship, but the Hellcopter from the raider allows it. You can't use watchman depends on the vehicle you choose afaik. My Commander in the Vanguard playthrough is Air Commander with Ranged specialist 3 and Deadeye 3, i have a singificant dmg boost on my primary attack with him. The bonus doesn't apply to the secondary however, but here come mods into game.
